The Air Academy Introduction to Aerospace Sciences is designed for students interested in entry-level positions in the aviation industry. Instruction includes rules and regulations, airport operations, aircraft maintenance, and employ-ability skills. Students will learn about the infrastructure supporting aviation, including airports, aviation organizations, and types of aircraft. Students will prepare for and take the Federal Aviation Administration’s private pilot ground written exam and may earn a Certificate of Proficiency upon completion. More

The Air Academy course in Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) will introduce small unmanned aerial vehicle design and operations. Students will receive hardware and software instruction and will conduct a series of labs to build and test a small UAV in flight. Topics include FAA regulations, basics of aeronautics and flight communications, payloads, roles and operation. Students may earn a Certificate of Proficiency and be eligible upon completion for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot's License. More

Students will learn how to operate modern CNC equipment as used industrially in rapid prototyping and production. Students will have the opportunity to build a part for the International Space Station on behalf of NASA. Students may earn a Certificate of Proficiency upon completion and will be eligible to take an exam to earn a NIMS credential as part of their coursework. More

Athletic Training A students will apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to treating injury. Students will learn how to wrap an injury to reduce swelling and give the athlete support. Students will learn how to use training equipment and materials, procedures for athletic training and the role of trainers as care providers. Theoretical components of the course will be taught online and students will complete an onsite internship during school athletic events.
